TGI Friday’s is one of the UK’s most iconic restaurant brands, with over 66 restaurants across the country. The award-winning chain offers authentic, contemporary, and full-flavoured American food, as well as signature cocktails and a lively, personalized experience. The chain has been in the UK for over 25 years and is still expanding, with new locations planned to open over the next 5 years.
TGI Friday’s prides itself in cultivating a festive environment for its guests, but also in providing a seamless and efficient payment experience. In addition to that, improving back office capabilities can further optimize any available payment data, while also minimizing costs.
TGI Friday’s worked with Verifone to complete a comprehensive payments system upgrade, while also renewing its contract for Verifone’s PaaS solution. More than 600 of Verifone’s NFC/CTLS-enabled VX 680 and VX 820 DUET terminals have been deployed at TGI Friday’s locations across the UK. These portable and countertop devices allow the restaurant chain to provide a fast, easy to use, and secure pay-at-the-table service, which is crucial for any busy restaurant/bar. The terminals are integrated into Verifone’s PaaS solution for secure end-to-end transaction visibility and access of back office management information.
Deploying the VX terminals and the PaaS solution across the entire UK estate has enhanced and future-proofed TGI Friday’s payment system, creating a better experience for both team members and guests. The VX range is fully NFC/CTLS enabled, in order to support new payment methods like Apple Pay and others as they become available. The integrated solution ensures TGI Friday’s has a payments infrastructure that is PCI-certified and pre-certified with major acquirers. The service also supports TGI Friday’s UK gift card redemption service, adding another benefit for all the restaurant’s guests.
